Hand-painted in Delhi

One dot,
then ten thousand.

Mandala mirrors and wall discs, dotted by hand with a stylus by Taruna. Every piece is one of one, and every one begins with a single dot at its centre.

The collection

Twenty-two pieces, each one of one

Pick a style, a colour, or both. Every piece is a single original, painted dot by dot.

Imagined at home

A verandah, a puja room, a powder room

Each piece shown in the kind of room it was painted for, at its real size.

Up close

Every dot is placed by hand.

Raised, matte, and never quite perfect: lean in and you can see the stylus in each one.

On the worktable

A stylus, a few pots of paint, and patience.

  1. Base coat

A wooden disc is sanded, sealed and painted in two smooth coats, usually black.

  2. Guidelines

A chalk grid divides the circle into equal slices so that every ring will line up.

  3. Dotting

From the centre outward, ring by ring, from the largest tool to the smallest.

  4. Finish

The finest white and metallic dots go on last, then a clear varnish seals it.
